MINUTES OF HARBOR POINTE PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
FEBRUARY 20, 2018
The annual meeting of the Harbor Pointe Property Owners Association was held on February 20, 2018 at the home of Bill and Sharon Sheriff. Lot owners present were: Enrique and Sandy Arevalos, Jordan Asher and Jody Mattison, Kyle and Jessica Hazel, Jim and Catherine Kelly, Casey Kilmer, Mark Ivey and Tom Cox, Rory and Angie Lithgow and Sharon Sheriff. It was noted that notice was given by mail to all property owners of record of the meeting and that those present and by proxy constituted a quorum for the meeting. Enrique, President of the Association, called the meeting to order.
The February 16, 2017 minutes were approved as submitted. Jim Kelly, treasurer, presented the treasurer’s report. Jim explained that maintenance was due to trimming of overhanging limbs near the road. Lot owners were encouraged to maintain their lots. Motion was made by Jordan Asher to accept the treasurer’s report. Kyle Hazel seconded it. The report was accepted.
Next was a report by the Architectural Committee. Kyle Hazel reported that DeKalb County has indeed accepted Harbor Pointe Road. However, the 3 cul’d sac roads off Harbor Pointe Road have not been accepted. Kyle said he intends to meet with the Road Superintendent the week of February 26thin Harbor Pointe to talk about this issue. He intends to specifically ask, “How do you accept the main road and not the three side roads?”
The ACC gave a report on Tom Cox/Mark Ivey’s home. The plans have been approved and construction should begin soon.
The next discussion was in regards to the logging that has taken place on lots 114(Suey), 1(Hamilton) and 2(Weber). Enrique reported that he talked to the
owners of 114(Suey) and they had given the logging company permission. Lot 2(Weber) was also called and he had not given permission. Lot 1(Hamilton) was not contacted, as there is not contact information available. The logging company drew
a permit. It was suggested a letter be written and sent by Hilton Conder, Harbor Pointe Attorney, to have the owners clean the lots.
Also discussed by the ACC was the erosion onto the road of lots 105 and 106. It is near the corner of Harbor Pointe Road and Harbor Pointe Lane. Owners did some site work several years ago in anticipation of building and decided not to build.
Jessica will write a letter to the Shulman’s requesting they have the slide fixed.
The next discussion was in regard to the short-term rentals issue. There was consensus that the association would wait before doing anything until the state has ruled on short-term rentals. The rental agent contact person for the current short-term rental is Jennifer Ware Cell #931-319-0941 and will be posted on the web site. That contact person would be the person to report disturbances from the property.
Term expirations on the Board were the next order of business. Enrique Aravelos, Jim Kelly and Jordan Asher rotate off this year. Catherine Kelly made a motion that Enrique, Jim and Jordan be re-elected to the board. Jessica Hazel seconded motion. Motion carried. Their new will term expire 2020.
It was suggested by Sharon Sheriff that a sign be made and installed at the entrance saying “Managed by Harbor Pointe Property Owners’ Association” along with the web address. This was to help with notification on lots sold in Harbor Pointe. Realtors would know whom to contact when selling a lot. Sharon said she would take care of ordering and installing the sign.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Sharon Sheriff, Secretary
