The annual meeting of the Harbor Pointe Homeowners Association was held at the home of Bill and Sharon Sheriff on February 21, 2009. Lot owners present were: Enrique Arevalos (by phone), Jordan Asher, Bob Astor, Randal and Janice Mashburn, Kelly Mason, Yoli Redero, Bill and Sharon Sheriff, Jim and Lori Shulman, Tim and Denise Sowell, Steve and Lynn Youngblood and 35 members represented by proxy.
It was noted that notice by mail was given to all property owners of record of the meeting and that those present in person and by proxy constituted a quorum for the meeting. Enrique Arevalos, President of the association, called the meeting to order.
First item of business was the approval of the minutes of February 23, 2008 as corrected. Mark Saunders’s name was omitted from the Architectural Committee. Motion was made and seconded that the minutes be approved as corrected.
Other item of business was the election of two directors for two year terms each to fill two positions expiring this year. Motion was made by Jim Shulman and seconded by Yoli Rodero to elect Kelly Mason and Bill Sheriff to the two year terms. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
There being no other business, President, Enrique Arevalos adjourned the annual meeting.
The following are items informally discussed following the meeting.
The treasurer reviewed disbursements and balances.
Concern was expressed for the road failure is several places. It was noted that the county is responsible for the maintenance of the road.
The Web site was discussed. Work is being done to move forward with the Web site. Items discussed to be included were Web name, vendors, service providers listing, check in/check out and detailed contact information. Some tabs would be password protected.
A discussion followed regarding maintaining and beautifying the entrance as well as maintaining the appearance of the road ways, to include bush hogging and clearing of limbs more frequently than was done last year. Kelly Mason shared that a proposal for the maintenance of the entry and bush hogging of the roadway side was to be finalized for board approval. She will follow up with new quotes for the increased bush hogging and maintenance. Mention was made of the street signs now in place.
The Architectural Committee will be giving further consideration of the development of a Manual of Standards.
