HPPOA Meeting Minutes

The organizational meeting of the Harbor Pointe Homeowners Association was held at the home of Don and Melanie Durham on February 24, 2007. Lot owners present were: Joe and Linda McConnell, Kelly Mason, Bob and Joyce Aster, Rick Gall, Jim and Catherine Kelly, Enrique and Sandy Arevalos, David and Sharon Carroll, Danna Owen, Kenneth McCord, Randal and Janice Mashburn, Jody Mattison and Jordan Asher, Jim and Lisa Lancaster, David and Jennifer Windle, Mark and Patti Sanders, Steve and Lynn Youngblood, Kenneth McCord, Bill and Sharon Sheriff and Don and Melanie Durham and (Denise Sewell)*

It was noted that notice by mail was given to all property owners of record of the meeting and that those present constituted a quorum for the meeting.

Enrique Arevalos made opening comments and stated the purpose of the meeting was to adopt By-Laws, elect a Board of Directors, elect officers and establish an Architectural Review Committee. Bill Sheriff provided back ground on the proposed By Laws which had been drafted by Attorney Alvin Harris of Hubbard, Berry and Harris, PLLC. After discussion of the proposed By Laws, motion was made by Linda McConnell and seconded by Jordan Asher to adopt the By Laws as amended for one typo.

The next order of business was to elect five Directors: 2 for 3 years, 2 for 2 years and 1 for 1 year. The five elected unanimously by the members present were: Enrique Arevalos – 3 years, David Carroll– 3 years, Bill Sheriff-2 years, Kelly Mason – 2 years and Yoli Redero for 1 year.

The next order of business was the election of officers. The following slate agreed to serve and was duly elected by the board in a unanimous vote. The officers of the Association are: President – Enrique Arevalos, Secretary – Bill Sheriff and Treasurer – Kelly Mason

The next order of business was the appointment of the Architectural Review Committee. The members accepting appointment to the committee were: David Carroll serving as Chairman, Ron Scobey, Danna Owen, Joe McConnell, Rick Gall, Yoli Redero and Jennifer Windle. (Rick Gall not on committee)*

Other items of business discussed at the meeting included a) a letter to be mailed via Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested with copies of the minutes, adopted By Laws and the Declaration of Reservations and Restrictive covenants for Harbor Pointe. It was determined the letter would also request the payment of the $100 per lot assessment as described in the Restrictive Covenants. 

The board further directed the establishing of a checking account after the Tax Identification Number is obtained. It was also recommended that a web site be developed for Harbor Pointe. Rick Gall volunteered to work on getting the web site developed.

The final action was determining the next annual meeting will be February 23, 2008.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
